Description: Northwest Connecticut Area Health Education Center (AHEC's) proposed Web 2.0 expansion aligns with and supports their current program. The program's Youth Health Service Corps (YHSC) website currently has an integrated online volunteer system that organizes and tracks youth training and volunteering through an online community that features basic social media functions. With additional funding, YHSC can expand its network's Web 2.0 features to develop strong online communities to help motivate member activity online while increasing commitment to volunteering.
- Creating online communities of interests and experiences by establishing collaborative social media features
- Adding online polls with discussion capabilities to include YHSC members in decision making
- Developing online communities for YHSC alumni, facilitating the creation of a pipeline of service, increased communication between current and former members, and stronger career connections
- Engaging in online Volunteering Challenges
- Integrating YHSC's online presence with Facebook
