Inspired to Serve

Inspired to ServeDescription: Search Institute will work with their current Inspired to Serve grantees to train and support young people in using Web 2.0 to reflect on and share their service-learning stories. The specific technologies that are proposed include: training for staff and students via online interaction and reflection through use of images and video posted to upgraded Web 2.0 capable pilot program websites.

There is also great potential for building knowledge and capacity among CBO grantees (and the larger field) for utilizing Web 2.0 by creating a peer learning network among grantees to share what they are doing and learning in their Web 2.0 work. Search Institute requests the opportunity to facilitate a network among CBO grantees and facilitate learning exchanges among grantees with other resource persons who can help build the capacities of CBOs to utilize Web 2.0 in their service-learning efforts. (Example: Web 2.0 CBO Grantee-only extranet, collaborative interactive Web 2.0 website, collaborative construction of training designs, etc.)
