Description: A coalition of 29 colleges and universities in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Western Iowa, the Consortium has used its Learn and Serve America grant to make competitive subgrants to member institutions. Subgrants fund student-led service-learning projects that incorporate social media tools to recruit participants, collaborate with partners, reflect on and record project outcomes. All subgrantees are part of a social network supported by Ning software for sharing ideas and experiences. Projects range from using the technology to organize complex events, to providing ongoing technical training/mentoring to bridge the digital divide.
