Presented by Community Works Institute, for K-16 and community educators. Experience curriculum and program workshops, drawn from one of the world's most vibrant and diverse urban settings. The Institute will focus on using field tested service-learning best practices to help educators engage students in service-learning and contribute to sustainable communities. Participants attending the Institute enhance their practice and thinking around sustainability, service-learning, and place-based education. CWI's Institutes are staffed by a core team of veteran practitioners and guest faculty members with a wide diversity of experience.
The Institute is appropriate for beginner to veteran practitioner. Alumni include: individuals and groupsof K-12 classroom teachers and specialists; VISTA and AmeriCorps members; pre-service teachers; community based educators and leaders; board members; and educators and leaders from the higher education community.
