This two-part workshop from KIDS Consortium is aimed at K-12 educators, after school/summer staff, and administrators. Included with registration is lunch, a copy of the KIDS as Planners Guidebook, and a contract hours certificate.
REGISTRATION FEES: $175.00 Parts I and II / $125 Part I only (Participants attending Part II must attend Part I)
The registration deadline is Dec. 1, 2010.
Part I (Dec. 8, 2010): Develop a clear conceptual understanding of what service-learning is and why it is an effective teaching strategy. Understand the difference between KIDS Consortium’s model of service-learning and other community-oriented educational experiences.
Part II (Jan. 26, 2011): Learn the components of a high quality service-learning project using tools and strategies from our well-known KIDS As Planners Guidebook. Participants will have time to plan how to integrate service-learning into their teaching environment and receive feedback on ideas.
