What Turns Service into Learning?

Representatives from higher education, schools, and community-based organizations talked about the commonalities and differences in their interpretations of service and service-learning. Panelists and audience engaged in a discussion of how service-learning is different from service, the strengths of each, and effective strategies for developing service-learning programs in ways that are complementary to existing service activities. This workshop was led by Dr. Barbara Holland, Director of ETR's National Service-Learning Clearinghouse.
