Christopher Columbus Awards Program

Sponsored by the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, these cross-curricular national competitive awards combines science, technology, engineering and math with community problem-solving in a real-world setting. With the help of an adult coach, students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades work in teams to identify an issue they care about and use science and technology to develop an innovative solution. This is science and community involvement at its best. Winning team awards range from 2,000 dollars in US Savings Bonds to a 25,000 grant to implement the winning teams idea in their community.
