Topics highlight recommended resource items, both online and in the
National Service-Learning Clearinghouse library, on important
service-learning related subjects. An evaluation is a decision or
judgment about whether a service-learning effort is successful and to
what extent that effort has or has not met a goal. These resources
cover the effects of service-learning on students who take classes that
employ service-learning as a pedagogy, on the community partner or
agency that delivers services students assist with, on faculty members,
and on the institution under whose auspices service-learning courses
are offered. Assessment and evaluation are important measurement tools
that can help determine the effectiveness of a service-learning program.
