This VHS video documents three service-learning programs in Oregon in a student-created television news format. The news show was produced by students at McKay High School in Salem as a service-learning project. Reports illustrate project activities, goals, and impacts on the students and communities through video clips and interviews with teachers and students. Programs include 1) a nature trail by students at Merlo Station School in Beaverton; 2) caring for salmon eggs by elementary students at Troutdale Elementary School in collaboration with the Oregon Fish and Wildlife STEP Program; and 3) developing child care skills by middle school students from the John F. Kennedy Middle School in Eugene in collaboration with Relief Nursery, a family crisis child care center.
