A chapter of Caring and Community: Concepts and Models for Service-Learning in Nursing, the authors note that newest strategies in nursing education transcend prior education or practice based initiatives and create a new model of critical, reflective inquiry and praxis in which learning, practice, and community service are fully synthesized. The writing describes Health Bond, a voluntary noncontractual rural service-education partnership of Arlington Municipal Hospital, Waseca Area Memorial Hospital, Immanuel-St. Joseph/s Hospital, Minnesota State University, Mankato, and South Central Technical College.
