Abstract: 

This book examines the role of higher education in creating leaders for a diverse and democratic society. Chapter one is a brief commentary on why there is a need for rethinking leadership practices in higher education. Chapter two is a description of the principles of transformative leadership. Chapters three through six address the concerns of a specific constituent group (faculty, student affairs professionals, and administrators).
