Abstract:
This is a curriculum and hand-on experience in philanthropy and volunteerism in America that places students directly in the middle of the American tradition of giving and service. Students study the history and purposes of philanthropy and volunteerism. They then experience the process and products of these traditions by participating in decision making and problem solving processes for philanthropic projects that affect their local communities.
