Abstract:
This paper describes the Comprehensive Action Plan for Service-Learning (CAPSL) as developed by the authors. It describes the four constituencies on which a program for service-learning needs to focus its principle activities: institution, faculty, students, and the community. Also described is the sequence of activities, tasks, and outcomes to be pursued for each of the four constituencies. Since CAPSL specifies the goal at each step of the process, the authors note that it can be tailored to local conditions but does not provide sufficient detail to be implemented at a particular university.
