Abstract: 

Teachers in three Minnesota schools demonstrate methods of authentic assessment or performance-based assessment as they document what students learn through service-learning experiences. Featured tools include rubrics, checklists, portfolios, site supervisor interviews, reflection journals, student self-assessment, and teacher visits to sites. These programs help students meet Minnesota's new project-oriented High School Graduation Standards. The study guide includes copies of assessment tools shown in the video. The VHS video may be shown in four independent segments. The video and guide are designed for staff development of teachers implementing service-learning programs.
