Abstract:
This brief article outlines two assessment tools. The Evaluation System for Experiential Education is a means for both capturing the idiosyncrasies of individual programs and generating standardized data that allow for comparisons across programs. Grand assessment techniques are also being used in a study at the Pennsylvania Service-Learning Resource and Evaluation Network at the University of Pittsburgh. The study used a mulitphased approach - a variety of quantitative and qualitative data sources including a program file, pre-post-forms required by the Corporation for National Service, site visits, and interviews.
