Abstract: 

Many reasons are cited for the failure of Western-based schooling in reference to Native American youth. Presents and discusses three different "service learning" schools which utilize the value system and integrated learning approach of traditional Native American education: Acoma Pueblo, Zuni Pueblo, and the National Indian Youth Search and Rescue.
