Abstract:
College courses that incorporate experiential learning based on community service should actively encourage students to reflect upon their service experiences to derive maximum benefit from them. Reflection activities should connect service experiences with course objectives, be guided by instructor input, occur regularly throughout the course, encourage mutual feedback and evaluation between teacher and students, and provide students with the opportunity to examine and reassess their personal value systems. Such reflection upon service experiences benefits both students and faculty. (Expanded Academic ASAP)
