Abstract:
Promotion of safety and security in schools needs active participation of students. This leads to long-term benefits and helps students to grow up as responsible citizens. Service-learning is an approach that develops tolerance and healthy interaction. A study reveals that the behavior of students in school reflects their future roles in the community. More than 60% of school bullies receive at least one conviction when they gain adulthood. Schools with high academic standards are less susceptible to violence, even in the midst of violence-prone communities.
