The monograph serves children, youth, and families by stating how interprofessional collaboration between health, education, and social service workers and students effectively serves community needs. The authors conclude that partnerships are grounded in four realizations: problems and needs formerly viewed as separate are related; many barriers stem from resource gaps in lives of families, service systems, and neighborhoods; all people pay some of the fiscal, social, and moral costs stemming from unmet needs of children, youth, and families; we are constantly reminded of our interdependence as a people.
