Abstract:
Social studies can help to make the world more humane, and students should be encouraged to look at the issue in a number of ways. They should welcome links to humans all over the world, be sensitive to the impact of their actions on a small planet, seek to encourage respect for dignity and the value of individuals, seek to promote democratic principles like justice and peace, and show a willingness to serve. Social studies education plays a key role in educating students to become citizens.
