Community Service to the Elderly: A Service Learning Model. Guidelines for Replication

To meet the needs of University of Pittsburgh's University Challenge for Excellence Program (UCEP), students and the elderly in City's Housing Authority (HACP), Generations Together and UCEP developed a service learning course and related community service activities that match first year students with older adult residents of four Pittsburgh high rise apartment buildings. These guidelines provide all of the information an organization would need to replicate the project, from funding ideas to curriculum lesson plans and education surveys. (AT)
