The brochure highlights behavior training and ideas that parents can use to help form caring children. Parents must model behaviors of service, talk about service to their children, and discuss with their children their jobs in the light of service. Suggested family projects include collecting money in the family for a worthy cause, establishing family rituals, adopting another family, recycling cans and paper, and supporting collection drives for needy people in the community. Individual children may becoming more caring persons by developing a sense of responsibility by caring for other things or people, joining school clubs or community organizations, and choosing service learning electives in school.
