Abstract:
Obert defines school-based service-learning as the implementation of service projects by the school. She notes that the best reason to implement school-based service-learning is the benefit to the student volunteer, who learns responsibility and compassion through service learning. She notes three kinds of service-learning projects, school service projects, community service projects, and personal service projects, and gives examples and guidelines for implementing service-learning projects.
