From the Margin to the Mainstream: The Faculty Role in Advancing Service-Learning on Community Colleges

Prepared as part of a project to promote service-learning activities at community colleges, this source book presents essays by college faculty detailing service-learning models and strategies. Following a brief foreword, an introductory essay describes the project, indicating that it involves a team of five faculty members who have built service-learning teams on their own campuses and held training sessions with over 300 faculty at other campuses. Five models of service-learning are then presented through the following essays:
