Abstract:
Expeditionary learning builds on the principles of the outdoor adventure program Outward Bound, and breaks down walls between traditional academic subjects by integrating science, social studies, and English into hands-on expeditions and projects. Includes general principles and central features of expeditionary learning, and examples of programs found throughout elementary, middle school and high school levels.
