Abstract:
Silcox affirms why service-learning should be combined with job training. Service-learning contextualizes the student's learning. It can provide the missing link for school-to-work transition at all levels of the educational ladder. Service-learning provides experience in planning, management, and responsibility that a student might not otherwise experience in a school-to-work setting. (SH)
