Abstract:
This case study looks at the Central Park East Secondary School (CPESS) structure and how CPESS teachers and students see community service and interships as central to the identity, culture, and intellectual mission of the school. Students demonstrate habits of mind as they consider the intricacies of the adult world. Advisors refer to habits of mind in developing reflective activities, and site supervisors use habits of mind to better understand their interns' learning goals and give students helpful feedback.
