Philanthropy and Outcomes: Dilemmas in the Quest for Accountability.

A Public/Private Ventures publication with condensed information on emerging requirements for formal assessment and outcome achievement in funded philanthropic ventures such as the United Way and others. This brief has four sections and Endnotes. The first two sections cover briefly the context of the outcomes movement, and technical issues of how to measure outcomes. The last two cover the substantive issues of what to evaluate and strategic issues of what to do, or, what conclusions to draw from past strategies in evaluation. The Endnotes section lists ten recommended articles or Internet sites from which to gather more information. (MH)
