Abstract:
Describes the impact of a mandatory social course with a community service component on juniors at an urban Catholic high school. Data was gathered through the entire 1993-94 school year and alumni of three previous classes reaching back to 1985 were contacted as well. Concludes that high quality community service can help adolescents develop into adults aware of and concerned about the world around then. (NSLC)
