Service-Learning and Character Education: One Plus One is more than Two

Relates to educating students to become good citizens. There are differences on how to make that goal a reality. Some people are calling for character development as the way to produce moral, caring students. Others say that service-learning is the key to connecting students to their communities and one another. Many educators, however, are finding the two approaches go hand in hand.
