French Fries and The Food System: A Year-Round Curriculum Connecting Youth with Farming and Food

Updated and tested activities for engaging youth from varied backgrounds with agriculture and food systems. Lessons range from activities designed to give the young person an introduction to the operations of a farm and garden to the social and economic aspects of the agricultural system. A tool to teach about agriculture, farming, nutrition, the environment. Aimed at educators on farms and gardens, teachers in schoolyards and in the classroom, and practitioners in youth programs. A publication of the Food Project, whose mission is to create a community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system.
