Abstract:
Describes the effects of service-learning in Saint Paul public schools using the voices of students, community partners, teachers, and volunteers. Useful for anyone involved in a K-12 service-learning program. Twelve lessons learned are about the process of doing service-learning which is more important than the product. Fourteen lessons learned are about youth voice and youth leadership: student ownership translates into educational excellence.
