Abstract:
Service learning promotes moral and intellectual development, and is the occasion for integrating classroom learning and experience. Using examples from religious studies and service-learning programs, the author reflects upon the inner and outer experiences provoked by service learning. The author uses historical examples of Catholic charity houses as examples, as well as his own experiences.
