Abstract:
Using data from the civic education and political participation survey gathered by the Indiana Department of Education (12th graders from five states), the study looks at the impact of service-learning on political participation. The authors use the theories of Dewey, Piaget, and Kolb, and see political participation as broader than voting. Other measures are political communication and contacting elected officials.
