Abstract:
The authors present the results of a study on the influence of service-learning on college students' self-reports in the areas of self-enhancement, understanding of self and world, and value-expression. Results indicate a positive change in these areas in students involved in service-learning, with these students reporting greater satisfaction with their courses and higher levels of learning about the academic field and the community.
