Abstract:
This article seeks to provide an overview of service-learning in higher education. It begins with a brief history of important events in the 20th century that contributed to the current state of service-learning. It includes an overview of important developments and numbers of students involved. A list of national organizations that contribute to the development of service-learning and resources are provided.
