Abstract:
This paper addresses campus community partnerships and offers observations and patterns that have emerged from national-scale research. Among the ideas that are presented are the motivations that affect faculty, student, and community partner involvement in service-learning, and the roles that are adopted by those involved. The idea of reciprocity in partnerships has not been fully understood. The findings of this research will help service-learning faculty get others involved, expand and sustain community-based teaching, learning, and research, and expand reciprocity in partnerships.
