Abstract:
Article discusses legislature passed in Maryland that requires all public school students to complete 75 hours of service-learning. The article addresses the concerns of service-learning experts that a task does not qualify as service-learning unless it directly relates to what the student has recently learned. If the task does not relate to what a student has learned, students may not realize the benefits of the projects they participate in.
