Abstract:
This article examines a Jewish service-learning program in Pennsylvania called the Service Learning Institute. The program allows students to pick from a number of service projects, including preparing meals for needy Jews, tutoring at-risk children at St. Barnabas Mission in Philadelphia and/or visiting with disabled patients at Elwyn Inc. in Media. The program also stresses educational components.
