Abstract:
Charting a Hero's Journey is a guide for reflection upon the experience of study abroad and/or volunteer service. Based on the work of Joseph Campbell, who documented the universal tale of the hero's journey, it draws extensively on the writings of such authors as Jane Addams, Langston Hughes, Octavio Paz, Mary Kingsley and Kathleen Norris.
