Abstract:
Gives a definition of service-learning, discusses educational leadership from the service-learning perspective, suggests course-specific service activities, reflection activities, faculty renewal. The author argues that service learning offers institutions of higher education a chance to link service to the core responsibilities of the university. He states that chairs who understand the educational as well as the social potential of service-learning will see its value.
