Abstract:
The author discusses what he has learned while implementing a tribal / rural mentoring project in North Dakota. He discusses the cultural and historical barriers that need to be overcome including constant changes in funding and focus causing skepticism in community members. Ten tips for recruiting mentors in tribal/rural communities are provided.
