Abstract:
This chapter addresses assessment as a critical component of building and sustaining service-learning partnerships. It begins with a discussion of the concepts of community and partnerships, within the context of assessment. It presents alternative approaches to assessing the process and impacts of partnerships. These approaches are then synthesized into a community-level matrix. The chapter concludes with strategies for overcoming barriers to assessment of partnerships and a view toward the future.
