Building Service-Learning Partnerships for the Future

This chapter highlights several themes that generate a strategy to advance service-learning by building and enhancing partnerships. The author proposes strengthening the relationships among service-learning, civic education, and institutional citizenship; institutionalizing partnerships for service-learning throughout higher education, continuing to develop partnerships with elementary and secondary education that ensure a cohesive educational system that is accessible to all, broadening and deepening research on and assessment of partnerships, and pushing for support for service-learning partnerships on the national level.
