Abstract: 

Presents an overview of the assessment strategies
that three institutions of higher education have undertaken, with a focus on strategies
to evaluate students' development of civic skills. The author notes that while Tusculum College, Morehouse
College, and Michigan State University have approached the question of evaluation
in different ways, there is much to learn from the successes and challenges each institution
