Abstract:
This document looks at the University mission and community development in urban neighborhoods. The conclusions are then expanded to encompass service learning, and subsequent benefits and program/institutional preconditions and support for service learning. The focus then shifts to community-based projects, and looks at project emphasis and information for neighborhood-based environmental planning and action. A specific example, the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood project site is examined, and other projects are then listed. The monograph concludes with summary statements, conclusions, and a list of references.
