Abstract:
This chapter describes an analogous period in the economics discipline in order to describe the potential pitfalls that need to be avoided in the process of moving the research agenda forward. Specifically, knowledge of service-learning can only be as exact and as precise as the most imprecise component of the research process. Service-learning should be built on a strong foundation of theory, values discussion, and concern for context. Each of these elements demands different skills, and researchers should specialize in that area of research in which they are most skilled. (Author)
