Abstract:
This study examines the efforts of 16 local civil society organizations to support and empower the youth of the Balkan state as agents of social change. The programs profiled are located in nine different countries and territories in the region: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia. Programs examined range from life skills development to service-learning programs designed to get youth out into their neighborhoods to engage in community development.
