Abstract:
This chapter addresses the prospect of forming a professional association for the service-learning research community. The etiology of the idea, benefits of forming an association, the need for incorporation into a nonprofit organization, ways to get started, a board composition and regeneration plan, bylaws and a code of ethics, and a strategic plan for growth and sustainability are discussed. The chapter concludes with a call to action. (author)
