Abstract:
This book is written for teachers interested in implementing service-learning projects in grades 3-5. This book is intended as a companion piece to NYLC's publication "Getting Started in Service-Learning". It is not meant as a comprehensive curriculum, but rather to generate ideas for ways to integrate-service-learning into existing, standards-based curricula. It includes ideas for environmental, arts, multicultural, intergenerational, and civic engagement projects. The book also includes sample forms and contracts as resources for practitioners. (HM)
